Biography: Howard H. Stevenson is the Sarofim-Rock Professor of Business Administation at Harvard Business School and Chairperson of the Entrepreneurial Management Unit. He returned to Harvard in 1982 to revitalize the program in entrepreneurship. He has published in the field on entrepreneurship, including a bestselling text (now in its fourth edition), a book of readings, and numerous articles. In addition, he served as a Senior Assistant Dean for Financial and Information Systems.
In his business life, he has helped found several companies, including Quadra Capital Partners and The Baupost Group, Inc. He has served as the chairman and president of these two companies, respectively, as well as vice-president, finance and administration, of Preco Corporation. He has served on the board of directors of more than 25 companies, ranging from hopeful start-ups to NYSE-listed organizations. He has been active in land conservation and other community efforts.
Jeffrey L. Cruikshank is a writer, editor, and business consultant. He is cofounder of Kohn Cruikshank Inc., a Boston-based communications firm, and has authored or coauthored numerous books on topics of interest to managers. He is the coauthor (with David B. Sicilia) of
